Head out the door and straight to the lift: it is located in Schwendau and is reachable in only 8 minutes! The lifts on the Horberg are only 600 m away, and they will take you up the Penken action mountain and into the Mayrhofen ski area with 136 km of slopes.
Awaiting you here is a first-class combination of adrenaline and pure enjoyment - for example, the legendary Harakiri slope with a 78% gradient or the Vans Penken Park, one of the most popular snow parks in Europe. The ski area also has a more relaxed, leisurely side and offers several panoramic ski runs and beginner runs. Refreshment opportunities such as rustic ski huts or the Horberg restaurant are the perfect complement to a day on the mountain.
What about cross-country skiing? Direct access at the apartment!
Is there anything better than having a cross-country skiing trail right outside your door? At our apartment house, cross-country skiing fans can enjoy direct access to the Schwendau trail. This 3.5 km long route leas through a beautiful winter wonderland past Schwendau, Stockach, and Hippach. This trail is classified as easy. If you would like to head higher up, you can reach the Schwendberg high-altitude trail by ski bus. The magnificent trail leads over 7.6 km at an elevation of 1,300 m.
One thing you shouldn't miss out on: pure tobogganing fun!
What would winter be without fun toboggan rides? Awaiting you around Schwendau are three toboggan slopes for families and adventure seekers. A real highlight is the toboggan run on the Gerlosstein: the Gerlosstein lift, which is 10 minutes away, will take you from the Hainzenberg to the local ski area and to the longest floodlit toboggan run in the Zillertal. Then, you can race down 7 km into the valley!
The Rastkogelhütte offers a 4 km long slope - this toboggan run is reachable only on foot, and you should plan for a 90 minute walk. The nearest station is the Brindlingalm with a 2.5 km long toboggan run.
